Platform Raspberry PI 1 B With Class 4 4 gig Micro SD card booting the PI.

The O.S. is running off a Kingston 16 G.B. USB drive.

O.S. Jessie 4.4 , Apache 2, PHP5 , My-SQL, Word-press 4.6. , Postman S.M.T.P.

We are using a Harbor Freight 45 Watt Solar Panel 10 Pc Kit, in to a 35 amp hr. Deep Cycle battery. This is over kill for this project as the Raspberry PI draws less than 1/2 an amp in this configuration.

We simply used what we had on hand. You will notice that we are supporting our PI with a zip-lock bag. We do not yet have a case.

Big news Solar PI fans! We have added a case for the PI!

Well, today we added a Block converter, as the USB port on the Harbor Fright box was not very good. Lose fitting and as such a point of concern to us. We also added a lighted power switch and a 2 amp buss fuse, why not, I tried to leave room in the case for a little amp / volt meter when I can locate one. Note the Pi is now in a case!

Today I up graded to a PI 3,  I also upgraded the word-press O.S. to 4.7.2 no small task on the PI. I am using the PI2 As an F.T.P. server and I have invested in a cool stacking case. As soon as I can i am going to replace the thumb drive with a Kingston.  They are aluminum cased and do a wonderful job letting the heat go.

As you know I have the Pi’s set to boot via small S.D. cards and the O.S. runs off the Thumb drive.

Below Is Pi stack running on the new power regulator, I got a nifty block converter from MCM electronics. it will handle about 3 amps  The two Pi’s are pulling no ware near  an amp, so we are good. I also  added an led volt meter and an on off switch.                       I would say my cost is around $20.00 u.s.
