OK, this is a fun story. I received an Estes Model Rocket kit as a Christmas gift from an old friend I had attended primary school with.
Back in the day, we would build them and send them up in the school yard, as most of my generation did.
The Apollo program was in full swing back then.
I am happy to say that the kits have not changed much at all.
Well, with the help of a buddy, we got it assembled and painted up nicely.
We named her the “Glenlivet”. This seemed appropriate.
Now, one of the good things about almost 50 years passing is the advancement in technology.
I got to thinking how cool it would be to have a camera mounted on our rocket.
I did not want to spend a lot as there was at least a 50% chance it would never be seen again.
I am happy to say everything worked much better than we had anticipated.
The video may take a bit of time to load. I am working full time with Linux, and finding ways to edit is a bit of a challenge, but it will improve.
All in all, it was fun!
